The beautiful and idyllic Bygholm Lake is located at the end of the Bygholm Park and stretches westwards into the countryside. At the south side of the lake you can find Åbjergskoven, a spectacular beech forest that goes all the way down to the lakeshore.
You can often encounter local people out for a stroll or a run around the lake. There are several paths in the area. The most popular one is the one down by the lakefront which is 7 kilometres long. There is also a mountain bike path and a bridle path.
If you wish, you can also go fishing by the lake.The fish stocks are characterised by small fry and is commonly used for sports fishing. You must have a national fishing license, and you can buy a permit for fishing in Bygholm Lake at the fishing/hunting store Effektlageret.
You can park in Bygholm Park or a small parking lot by the road Åbjergskovvej where there are also toilet facilities. The lake is open to the public 24/7.
